Two stage air conditioners start cooling at 60% of total output – this is the first stage. If required, the system will kick up to 100% – into the second stage, to satisfy the call for cooling.
A two stage or variable stage furnace and thermostat is required to run a two stage AC. Two stage ACs come in every size for every home.
