In Edmonton one thing is certain - We all need a furnace! A common question we are asked is: When the time comes to replace my furnace, how much should I expect to pay to have a new one installed? |
How much does a furnace replacement in Edmonton cost? |
This is an interesting question to answer! While the price depends on several factors, you can often save even more with manufacturer rebates. We'll link our latest rebate programs at the bottom of this post, as they're available. Meanwhile, here are several factors to consider: |
Size of Your Home |
Furnaces come in different sizes. Lennox furnace sizes range from 30K BTU to 135K BTU of gas output. The larger the home, the more BTUs of gas are required to heat it. The larger the BTU requirement, the more expensive the furnace. |
Type of Furnace |
Furnaces are available in single stage, two stage, and variable capacity. We have a great blog post explaining the differences. You may read it by clicking here. Higher end products are logically a higher price. |
Ease of Install |
Some project require additional time and materials, which adds cost to the install. For example:

There may be other factors to the final price of your installation. As your HVAC contractor, we are happy to explain all that is involved in your installation. So, all said and done...
Prices in Edmonton could go for as low as $4500 and higher than $9000. You are probably looking at the in between price. If you are quoted a less expensive furnace install, you may wish to consider:
If any of these things are lacking, the price should reflect it. Remember: You get what you pay for. Want an example? Let's say that you have a 1300 square foot bungalow. Typically this requires a 70,000 Btu furnace. Perhaps you don't want a basic single stage, but want something in the middle. The ML296V is a two stage model with a variable blower motor that is a great mid range product. Without any additional charges a standard install would cost $5475 + GST. This would include the city permits, supply of the equipment and the labor involved. We hope this discussion helps! Please contact us anytime! |
